    Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College men's four won the petit final by over eight seconds at the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Regatta this afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond. Trinity's varsity eight won the third-level final by more than six seconds and its second-varsity eight came in fifth in the petit final, as the Bantams closed the 2016-17 season. Trinity scored 20 points to tie Colby and Massachusets for 13th in the Overall Points Trophy Standings and 44 points to claim 13th outright in the Combined Overall Points Trophy Standings.

    Cambridge, Mass. - The Trinity College men's varsity eight finished 25th in a field of 37 entries in the Head of the Charles Regatta Collegiate Eights race on Sunday in Cambridge. Trinity finished with a time of 17:22.523, which was over 17 seconds ahead of the 26th-place University of Cincinnati crew and less than a second behind Coast Guard's boat who finished 24th. The Bantams finished 10th among all Division III boats.

    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College men's rowing has announced the hiring of Brendan Murphy as the team's new assistant coach for the 2016-17 season. The Bantams, coached by Kevin MacDermott, had a strong 2015-16 season with a pair of first-place finishes at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta and an 11th out of 41st finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta. The team's third varsity eight took silver at the New England Rowing Championships in the spring while the second varsity eight earned bronze.
