Waterford, Conn. - Freshman Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) turned in an 11th place finish out of 241 competing runners to pace the Trinity College men's cross country team to a ninth place finish at the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut. Out of 20 teams, the Bantams finished 44 points ahead of tenth place Babson, and just behind York College in eighth.
McAlister finished in 25:11.03, first amongst Bantam runners, in a tightly run race as less than six seconds separated the freshman harrier from sixth place. Sophomore Zachary Joachim (Sudbury, Mass.) posted a 25:57.6 finish, good for 39th place while classmate Lucas Duros (Wilmette, Ill.) also had a solid day with a 58th place finish. Fellow freshmen Timothy Bogomolov (Lynn, Mass.) and Spencer Brown (Falmouth, Maine) finished 67th and 69th, respectively, to round out Trinity's top-five.
The Bantams return to action on Saturday, October 29, as they travel to Colby for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships.
