Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Avery Giorgio to Coaching Staff

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's lacrosse team has announced the hiring of Avery Giorgio as an assistant coach for the 2019 season. The Bantams, coached by Katy Dissinger (5th season), reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in 2018, ultimately falling to Salisbury, 9-8. In the final poll of the season released by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), Trinity was ranked No. 8 in the country.

Giorgio joins the Trinity coaching staff after a successful playing career at Holy Cross as well as numerous stops as a coach. Giorgio graduated from Holy Cross in 2017 where she was a captain of the Crusaders women's lacrosse team. Prior to joining the Trinity coaching staff, Giorgio was coach of the soccer and lacrosse squads at Cheshire Academy. She also is the head coach of the Nor'easter Premiere Lacrosse Club in New Haven and works as a camp counselor at Holy Cross women's lacrosse camps. Giorgio received a bacehlors degree in psychology at Holy Cross.
