Hartford, Conn. - With the 2019 fall season officially underway, this year's first Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the field hockey turf and golf course. Senior field hockey tri-captain Jordan Ragland (Westport, Conn.) and junior men's golfer Ricardo Paes Leme (Villa Park, Ill.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Ragland netted the game-winning goal early in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie versus Smith. She assisted on the second Trinity goal and added two more tallies in the fourth quarter as the Bantams posted a 5-1 victory over the Pioneers.
Leme won the Detrick Invitational by a single stroke with a two-day score of 143, as the Bantams opened the 2019-20 season with a seocnd-place finish in the team standings of its home tournament. Leme shot a 71 on Saturday and a 72 on Sunday to take the title.
