Hartford, Conn. - The second Bantams of the Week of the 2019 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the football field and on the racing trail. Senior co-captain women's cross country runner Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and sophomore football LB Brian Casagrande (Madison, Conn.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Feenstra finished over 20 seconds faster than the second-place runner to win the UNE Women's Invitational on Saturday. Feenstra posted a time of 18:47.3 and the Bantams totaled 58 points as a squad to finish second in the team standings. She was honored as the Trackyack.com Female Performer of the Week as well.
Casagrande made a game-high 11 tackles in 14-8 setback at Tufts. He added 1.5 tackles for loss including a late tackle in the Tufts backfield that resulted in a safety and pulled the Bantams to within six points of the Jumbos with three minutes left in the game.
