Hartford, Conn. - The fifth Bantams of the Week of the 2019 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the soccer pitch and the cross country trail. Sophomore women's soccer back Colleen Lux (Shaker Heights, Ohio) and senior co-captain men's cross country runner Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, R.I.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Lux scored two goals in Trinity’s 3-0 win at Bates. She scored once in the 72nd minute to give Trinity a 2-0 lead and her second goal came exactly one minute later for the final score. Lux leads the Bantams in scoring this year with four goals from the back line.
McAlister shattered the Trinity program 8K record to finish 37th at the Louisville Classic in Kentucky. He crossed the finish line with a time of 24:26.7 in the Gold Race to register the fastest time among non-Division I participants. McAlister was honored as both the NESCAC Performer of the Week and the Trackyack.com Performer of the Week.
