Hartford, Conn. - The eighth Bantams of the Week of the 2019 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the soccer pitch and the football field. First-year women's soccer forward Delaney Markham (Winchester, Mass.) and senior football LB Daniel Negron (Hartsdale, N.Y.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Markham scored the first two goals of her collegiate career to give Trinity a 2-1 win against No. 23-ranked Wesleyan. She scored both goals on redirected corner kicks, one in the ninth minute to give the Bantams a 1-0 lead and the second in the 12th minute to make it a 2-0 game.
Negron made a game-high 13 tackles (six solo), including a pair of tackles for loss for two yards in Trinity's 29-15 loss to Williams.
