Hartford, Conn. - As the cool fall air starts to take over, this year's fifth Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the field hockey field and cross country course. Sophomore field hockey midfielder Caroline Curtin (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore men's cross country harrier Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Curtin had a hand in all three goals in field hockey’s 3-2 overtime win against Bowdoin last Saturday. She assisted on a goal that tied the game at 1-1 in the 51st minute, provided an assist on the go-ahead goal a few minutes later, and scored the clincher in overtime unassisted.
McAlister placed second overall with a time of 25:41.79 to lead the men's cross country squad to the James Earley Men's Cross Country Invitational title last weekend at Westfield State University. McAlister was 6.76 seconds off the first-place pace but came in nearly 10 seconds ahead of the third-place runner.
