Bruno, Michaud Named as Bantams of the Week

Hartford, Conn. - As we enter the home stretch of the winter sports regular season, this year's 20th Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the track and ice. Women's track and field sophomore Izzy Bruno (Winchester, Mass.) and men's hockey rookie Lucas Michaud (South Portland, Maine) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.

Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.

Bruno won the high jump at the Wesleyan University Indoor Track and Field Invitational at Bacon Field House over the weekend. Bruno cleared a height of 5'05" which ranks as the 14th-best height in the country. Bruno also came just an inch short of tying the college indoor high jump record which was set back in 2001.

Michaud had three points for the Bantams last week to help lead them to a 2-0 weekend. Michaud tallied a pair of assists in a 3-2 win at Williams and added a goal in a 4-1 victory at Middlebury. Michaud leads the squad and ranks ninth in the NESCAC with 18 points on nine goals (T7th in NESCAC) and nine assists so far.
