Hartford, Conn. - With graduation behind us, this year's 35th Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the track and field and on the baseball diamond. Women's track and field junior Hannah Neufeld (Burlington, Mass.) and baseball senior tri-captain Erik Mohl (Milton, Mass.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Neufeld won the 200-meter dash with a finals time of 26.20, a personal best for the junior, last weekend at the Williams College Last Chance Meet. Neufeld edged the second place runner from WPI by .02 seconds and was 1.43 seconds ahead of the third place finisher.
Mohl appeared in all five games of last weekend's NCAA Regional Tournament, picking up a win and a save to help the Bantams advance to the regional finals. Mohl allowed just one earned run in eight innings of work, while striking out five. He threw 2.1 innings against Salve Regina on Saturday to pick up the win before turning in four innings of relief work against Babson on Saturday to earn the save and help push Trinity to a deciding elimination game against the Beavers.
