Hartford, Conn. - With the fall sports season in the midst of the playoff push, this year's seventh Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the water and football field. The women's rowing "A" collegiate fours crew and rookie football QB Seamus Lambert (North Andover, Mass.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Trinity's "A" entry in the collegiate fours race at the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River last weekend finished third of 40 boats with a time of 21:27.36. The bronze medalists finished almost seven full seconds ahead of the fourth-place crew from Carleton and 14.64 seconds behind second-place Barry. Florida Tech won the race at 20:48.312. Trinity's "A", including junior Kirsten Thiim (Acton, Mass.), sophomores Lillian Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.), Claire Grigglestone (Groton, Mass.), Aria Mildon (Vashon, Wash.), and junior coxswain Zoe Russell (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), was the fastest Division III boat in the race.
Lambert completed 22-of-29 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns and added 75 rushing yards on 15 carries in a 48-6 win at Bowdoin. He threw scoring strikes of 21, 2, and 17 yards to help the Bantams to a 27-0 lead at halftime.
