Hartford, Conn. - With the month of October in our rearview, this year's eighth Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the water and field hockey field. Field hockey junior Nicole Quinlan (Duxbury, Mass.) and the men's rowing novice eight crew have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Quinlan scored once in both of Trinity’s games last week for four points. She recorded the game-winner in the team’s regular season finale and netted the second goal in Trinity’s NESCAC Quarterfinal win over Hamilton. Quinlan currently has 14 points on five goals and four assists for the Bantams who face off against Middlebury on Saturday in the NESCAC Semifinals.
The men's rowing entry in the Men's Collegiate Novice Eight race won by just under three seconds at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday morning at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Bantam boat, consisting of coxswain Elizabeth Daly (New York, N.Y.), Alex Sowinski (Unionville, Conn.), Ryan Wenk (Cincinnati, Ohio), Liam Flinn (Dedham, Mass.), Duuluu Naranbat (Ulaanbaatar City, Mongolia), Josh Anderson (Topsfield, Mass.), Mac Van Buskirk (Haddonfield, N.J.), Tyler Brennan (New Canaan, Conn.) and Andrew Jensen (Buffalo, N.Y.), finished with a time of 10:29.02, edging a boat from Tufts by 2.89 seconds in a field of 26 boats. Trinity's novices will complete the fall season in the Green Monster Freshman Regatta on Sunday.
