Hartford, Conn. - As the fall sports season winds to a close, this year's ninth Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the field hockey and football field. Field hockey senior Lori Berger (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and football junior Koby Schofer (Northbridge, Mass.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Berger made six saves in net for the Bantams in the NESCAC Semifinals last weekend versus top-ranked Middlebury. Berger made four first-half stops and two saves in the second frame to keep Trinity in it. She was also recently named to the All-NESCAC First Team after topping the NESCAC rankings with an .878 save percentage (3rd in nation) and allowing just nine goals to finish second in the league with a Trinity-record 0.53 GAA (8th in nation).
Schofer finished with 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Trinity's 27-16 victory over previously undefeated Amherst last weekend. Schofer hauled in receiving scores of 16 and 33 yards to help the Bantams take over control of first place in the NESCAC. He currently is second in the league with 95.4 ypg and also tops the league with 11 receiving scores.
