Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College football team, under the direction of Head Coach Jeff Devanney (13th season), has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. The Bantams will take to the gridiron nine times in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action, including four contests in front of their home crowd at Jessee/Miller Field as they look to defend the NESCAC title for the third consecutive season.
The Bantams finished the 2017 campaign with an 8-1 record to win their second straight conference crown and finished ranked as the No. 1 team in all of New England while boasting a league-best 14 All-NESCAC selections.
The Bantams begin their title defense on September 15th with their season-opener against Colby in Waterville, Maine. The game falls on the weekend which used to be slated as Trinity's scrimmage weekend before the league introduced a nine game schedule for the first time last fall. On September 22, the Bantams open up in The Coop versus Bates at 1 p.m. before traveling to Williams on September 29 to close out the first month of the season.
Trinity opens up October with a battle against Hamilton (10/6) on the road before returning to Hartford to square off against Tufts on October 13 of Homecoming Weekend. The Bantams then travel to Brunswick, Maine to face Bowdoin on October 20 before playing host to Middlebury on October 27, the Saturday of Family Weekend.
On November 3, the Bantams welcome Amherst to town in a game that is sure to have championship implications. The Bantams will also honor the members of their senior class before the game versus the Mammoths as part of Senior Day. Trinity ends its season on November 10 when it travels down the road to Wesleyan University in a pivotal matchup between the storied in-state rivals.
