Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College senior tri-captain OT Austin Baiardi (Smithtown, N.Y.) was named to the D3football.com 2019 All-East Region First Team, per the website's announcement Monday afternoon. The Bantams, coached by Jeff Devanney (14th Season), finished the 2019 season in fourth place in the league with a 5-4 record.Baiardi, whose list of postseason accolades continues to lengthen, sees his name on the All-East Region First Team for the first time in his career, and is the only NESCAC player on the First Team. Baiardi graced the D3Football.com All-East Region Third Team in 2018, and was named to the Preseason All-American Team prior to the season.
The senior was also named to the New England Football Writers Division II/III All-Star Team for the second season in a row. Baiardi, who also makes his third-straight appearance on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference First Team after earning Second Team honors as a rookie in 2016, anchored the Trinity offensive line that helped Trinity average over 30 points per game. Baiardi and the Bantam blockers paved the way for Trinity ball carriers to rush for over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was also a D3Football All-East Region Third Team honoree in 2018, and was named to the D3Football.com Pre-Season All-American Third Team this fall.
A graduate of Smithtown West High School, Baiardi is majoring in economics at Trinity. He is the son of Teresa and Peter Baiardi.
