Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College senior tri-captain OT Austin Baiardi (Smithtown, N.Y.) was named to the 2019 D3Football.com All-American Third Team, after anchoring the Bantam offensive line that helped Trinity average over 30 points per game. Baiardi was also selected for the New England Football Writers (NEFW) Division II/III All-Star Team, the D3Football.com 2019 All-East Region First Team, and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference First Team this fall. The Bantams, coached by Jeff Devanney (14th Season), finished the 2019 season in fourth place in the league with a 5-4 record. Baiardi, whose list of postseason accolades continues to lengthen, is the lone representative from the conference on the D3Football.com All-American squad.
Baiardi and the Bantam blockers paved the way for Trinity ball carriers to rush for over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. Baiardi graced the D3Football.com All-East Region Third Team in 2018, and was named to its 2019 Preseason All-American Team. His all-conference nod was his third-straight appearance on the All-NESCAC First Team after earning All-NESCAC Second Team honors as a rookie in 2016. A graduate of Smithtown West High School, Baiardi is majoring in economics at Trinity. He is the son of Teresa and Peter Baiardi.
