Shea Goal Gives Trinity Field Hockey Win Over Hamilton In First Home Game

Hartford, Conn. – Trinity senior midfielder Paula Shea (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored the lone goal of the game with 6:58 left in the first half to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a home- and league-opening 1-0 victory over the visiting Hamilton College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey action this afternoon on Sheppard Field.  Trinity, ranked No. 19 in the nation, improves to 2-0, while Hamilton drops to 0-2 in its first conference game and loses for the 22nd straight time.

Trinity outshot Hamilton, 10-1 in the first half and 22-6 for the game, but Continental junior goalie Victoria Trentini (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) kept the visitors in the game with nine saves.  Senior tri-captain Anne Marie Scalambrino (Chicago, Ill.) remained unscored upon in 2013, stopping three shots in the Trinity cage.
