Trinity Field Hockey Gets Shutout at Bates

Lewiston, Maine - The Trinity College field hockey team lost 2-0 to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe, Bates, on Saturday afternoon in Maine. The loss drops the Bantams to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in conference action while Bates improves to 4-3 on the year and 2-3 in NESCAC play. 

Both Bobcat goals came from Shannon Beaton (West Newbury, Mass.), one in each half. Trinity recorded just four shots on goal, compared to seven for Bates. Bantam senior goalkeeper Sophie Fitzpatrick (Duxbury, Mass.) stopped five shots, allowing the two Bobcat goals while Bates goalie Christina Vega (Needham, Mass.) turned away all four Trinity shots and earned her fourth victory of the year. 

Trinity is back in action tomorrow as they travel to the University of New England to take on the Nor'easters. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
