Wellesley, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams suffered a 3-1 loss against the Wellesley College Blue in field hockey action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 0-2 while the No. 10-ranked Blue improve to 4-0.
Wellesley hald Trinity to a single shot in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into the break on a goal by Nikki Sharkin before scoring twice more in the second half to take a 3-0 lead. Trinity scored for the first time this season in the final minute of the game on a goal by sophomore forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.).
Trinity senior tri-captain Sophie Fitzpatrick (Duxbury, Mass.) finished with six saves, and Lucy Hurlock made four stops fopr the Blue. Trinity came back to outshoot Wellesley, 7-6, in the second half but committed 53 fouls in the game compared to 33 for the Blue.
