Trinity Field Hockey Wins Big At Wellesley, Finn Ties Record With Five Goals For Bantams

Wellesley, Mass. - Senior co-captain forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) tied a Bantam record with five goals to lead visiting Trinity College to a 5-1 victory over the Wellesley College Blue in field hockey action this afternoon.  Trinity improves to 10-5 with its second win in a row and the Blue drops to 5-11 with their seventh setback in a row.  Finn ties Lindsey Davison '93 for Trinity's single-game goals record and ups her College-record goals total for her career to 82.  Trinity closes the 2017 regular season at home on Wednesday, October 25 against No. 10-ranked Amherst, and hopes to qualify for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament next weekend.

Finn scored three unassisted goals in the first half to give the Bantams a 3-0 lead, and received assists by sophomores Caroline Curtin (Andover, Mass.) and Nicole Quinlan (Duxbury, Mass.) on a penalty corner7:49 into the second half.  Finn added her record-tying marker 1:35 later, and Wellesley's Carson Dennis rounded out the scoring with a goal for the home squad inside the game's final two minutes.  Trinity senior Lori Berger (Scottsdale, Ariz.) made seven saves in the Bantam cage and Maggie Connelly had 11 stops for Wellesley.
