Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College field hockey team, led by Head Coach Anne Parmenter (19th season), has announced its schedule for the 2019 season. In total, the Bantams will take to the field 15 times, highlighted by seven contests in front of their home crowd at Robin L. Sheppard Field. The team will play 10 important New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) contests and five non-conference games versus nationally competitive regional opponents.
The Bantams finished the 2018 season with a 12-5 record and tied for fourth place with a 6-4 conference mark. The Bantams reached the NESCAC Semifinals, after beating Hamilton, 2-0, in the quarterfinal round, but fell, 1-0, to the Middlebury Panthers in the semifinals to end the season.
Trinity opens play at home on September 7 versus Smith College before hitting the road for a pair of matchups. The first comes on September 14 at Colby College for the team's first NESCAC challenge of the fall before turning around and playing the University of New England the following day (9/15). Trinity returns home for a September 19 battle versus Keene State under the lights at Sheppard Field before hosting Williams College on September 21. The next day, the Bantams head to Boston's North Shore to take on Endicott College at noon. The team wraps up the opening month of the season with a conference tilt at home versus Bowdoin on September 28.
The Bantams begin October with three consecutive conference road games, at Connecticut College (10/2), at Tufts (10/5) and at Bates (10/6). Trinity returns to Sheppard Field for an October 12 showdown with Hamilton at 11 a.m. before heading north on 91 to play Springfield on October 15. After an October 19 battle at Middlebury, the team hosts in-state rival Wesleyan University on Homecoming Saturday (10/26) before ending the regular season on October 29 at home against Amherst.
