Hartford, Conn. — One goal was all it took Saturday afternoon, as the #20 Trinity College field hockey program fell on the road to #5 Tufts, 1-0. The Bantams (5-4) mustered just two shots on frame in the setback, conceding the lone Tufts (7-2) tally early in the first quarter.
The Jumbos struck at the 9:12 marker in the first; sophomore Claire Foley (Louisville, Ky.) scored her fourth goal of the season on a feed from classmate Gillian Roeca (Baltimore, Md.), which proved to be the game-winner.
Trinity finished with four shots total to Tufts’ nine, and lost in the penalty corner category 3-1.
Freshman goalkeeper Emma Cropper (Wilton, Conn.) took the loss for the Bantams, making four saves in the loss.
The Bantams are back on the road tomorrow, looking for its second NESCAC win of the season against Bates. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
