Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College men's basketball senior co-captain C/F Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was one of 10 players selected to play for East Team in the Reese's College All-Star Game at the NCAA Division III Final Four in Salem, Va. on March 18. Sponsored by Reese's, the game was played prior to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship game at the Salem Civic Center. Ogundeko led the East to a 139-116 victory over the West, totaling 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bantams, led by Head Coach James Cosgrove (7th season), finished the season with a 16-10 record featuring an appearance in the NESCAC Championship Tournament semifinals. Trinity defeated Wesleyan University, 51-49, in the quarterfinals, courtesy of a last-second basket by Ogundeko.
Ogundeko, an All-NESCAC First Team honoree and a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District selection, leads the league with 288 rebounds and is sixth among conference leaders with 37 blocks for a Trinity team that allowed the fewest points per game to opponents (65.3). Ogundeko provided a major presence in the lane for the Bantams this winter, averaging a double-double of 16.6 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, while also shooting 54.2 percent from the field. His 11.5 boards per game also ranks 16th best in the nation. He was the 2015 NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and totaled 1,275 points and 993 rebounds in his collegiate career.
