Hartford, Conn. - Seniors Eric Gendron (Merrimack, N.H.) and Daniel Padalino (West Sand Lake, N.Y.) have been announced as captains of the Trinity College men's basketball team for the 2017-18 season.
The Bantams, coached by James Cosgrove (8th season), are coming off a successful season last winter where the team went 16-10 and reached the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament for the 15th time ever and fourth year in a row.
Gendron averaged double-figures at 10.5 points per contest last season while shooting 42.9% from the floor. Gendron also shot 36.6% from beyond the arc and started 23-of-26 games last winter. Gendron scored in double-figures 13 times highlighted by a season-best 25 against Tufts in early February and ended the season with seven straight double-digit point performances.
Padalino appeared in nine games last season and provides a steady ball-handler for the Bantams who averaged 12.9 assists per game last season as a team. A stingy defender as well, Padalino also appeared in nine games off the bench during the 2015-16 season and will look to bolster Trinity's back court this season.
