Williamstown, Mass.- The Trinity College Bantams came out on top this weekend in the Williams College Golf Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club. The Bantams finished the two-day tournament with an impressive team score of 584 while Williams College finished in second place with an overall score of 589 followed by Western New England (601), Babson College (610), and Middlebury College (611). As a unit, Trinity improved four strokes from the first round (294) to the second round (290) to keep their lead from Saturday's round.
Junior Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) was the individual champion and the only player to shoot under-par with an overall score of 139 (68+71). Junior Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) tied for third with a final score of 145 (68+71) and senior captain Nate Choukas (Hanover, N.H.) tied for sixth with a final score of 147 (73+73). Teammates Jack Junge (Winnetka, Ill.) shot a 154 (82+72) and Kole Kelly (Belmont, Mass.) added a score of 158 (81+77) for the Bantams. Head coach, Matt Greason (5th season), was very pleased with the team's performance: "This was a huge win for the program. We hope to take this good play into our conference championship qualifier next weekend."
