Trinity Men's Golf Takes Second At NESCAC Qualifer, Rosenfield Wins Medalist Honors

Middlefield, Conn. - Trinity College senior tri-captain Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) shot a 139 over two days to earn medalist honors by three strokes and lead the Trinity College Bantams to second place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Golf Championship Qualifying Tournament on the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Golf Course at Lyman Orchards Golf Club this weekend.  The defending conference champion Bantams held a one-stroke lead in the team standings with a score of 291 after round one and shot a 297 today to finish one stroke behind first-place Middlebury at 588 for the weekend.

Rosenfield was the individual runner-up in his sophomore and junior seasons at this event before finally breaking through this year.  Hamilton dropped from first to third from Saturday to Sunday, and Tufts shot a 291 today to take fourth.  Those four will compete for the NESCAC title in the spring at Middlebury.  Trinity won both the fall and the spring championship events in 2017-18.  Trinity senior tri-captain Jack Junge (Lincolnshire, Ill.) tied for 11th at 149, while senior tri-captain Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) and classmate Nick Brachina (Summit, N.J.) tied for 16th place at 150.
