Trinity Men's Golf Finishes Tied At The Top In Saratoga National Golf Club Invitational

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Trinity College senior tri-captain Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) shot a career-low 67 in the second round to win the individual title with a two-day score of 139, but the Bantams missed out on the team championship due to tiebreaking rules in the Saratoga National Golf Club Invitational this weekend.  Trinity and Babson both ended the day at 590, but Babson's fifth-lowest scorer in the tournament, Reed Wilson shot a 75 today and Trinity's fifth-lowest scorer, senior tri-captain Jack Junge (Lincolnshire, Ill.) shot an 83 to give the Beavers the win.  Reed and Junge both finished at 158 for the weekend, but the tiebreaker was the Sunday score.  Middlebury led the field with a score of 294 after Saturday's round, but Trinity shot 293 and Babson shot 292, and the Panthers slumped to 301 today.

Rosenfield was tied for third after round one with an even-par 72, but was one of four players to finish under par today with the lowest score of the day at 67 to win medalist honors by four strokes.  Trinity senior Nick Branchina (Summit, N.J.) tied for ninth with a two-day score of 149 (74+75), while senior tri-captain Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) was 19th at 153, and sophomore Ricardo Paes Leme (Lake Villa, Ill.) tied for 20th at 154.  The tournament concludes the 2018 fall season for the Bantams.
