Men's Golf Wins Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on Tiebreaker After Strong Final Day

Ballston Spa, N.Y. - The Trinity College men's golf team finished in a first-place tie with Middlebury at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore at the Ballston Spa Country Club after a strong Sunday performance. The Bantams finished tied for first after entering the day in second place, finishing with a two-day total of 573 at the 15-team event. Williams was a distant third with a 587. 

Trinity won the tiebreaker with Middlebury for the championship as the Bantams shot 290-283—573, while the Panthers went 287-286—573. Senior tri-captain Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) won a playoff with Middlebury's Reid Buzby for medalist honors. Rosenfeld shot a 70 on Sunday and birdied the 18th hole in the playoff. Rosenfield's Sunday 70 was second-best on the team to classmate Nick Branchina (Summit, N.J.) who turned in a 67, the day's second-best round of any golfer. 

On Saturday, Rosenfield found himself tied at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 67 to lead the team to second place after the first day.  Fellow Bantam senior tri-captain Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) was tied for sixth at 71. Kay-Green and Branchina tied for second on the team with a two-day score of 144.
