Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College men's ice hockey team was featured in The Hartford Courant last week in a story wrapping up its incredible NCAA Division III Championship Runner-Up season in 2016-17. Bantam senior captain Sam Johnson (Dallas, Texas) and junior Tyler Whitney (Wakefield, Mass.) were featured previously on D3Hockey.com and USCHO.com, respectively, as the Bantams prepared for the NCAA Division III Frozen Four in Utica, N.Y., while Johnson and fellow captains Ethan Holdaway (Glastonbury, Conn.), Sean Orlando (Ivyland, Pa.), and Will Sleeper (Wellesley, Mass.) were interviewed earlier in March on Bob Parzych's "Kitchen Sink" radio show on WRTC-FM, following the Bantams' 3-2 overtime win at Hamilton in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Finals.
Bantam alum Jackson Brewer '15 was featured in January in the Roanoke Times for his fine play professionally as a member of the Roanoke Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Trinity Head Coach Matt Greason (6th Season) was interviewed on ESPN Radio previewing the 2016-17 season. That interview was part of the Metro Hartford Alliance "Pulse of the Region" Winter Sports Preview Show on ESPN Radio 1410 in Hartford.
The Bantams, which won the NCAA Division III Championship title in 2014-15 and the last two NESCAC crowns, defeated St. Norbert, 3-2, in the NCAA Division III Championship Semifinals on March 24 but lost, 4-1, against Norwich in the NCAA Finals the next day.
