Hartford, Conn. - Junior Andy Chugg (Mesa, Ariz.) scored two goals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-0 victory over the visiting St. Anselm College Hawks in men's ice hockey action this afternoon at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation, improves to 4-0-1 with its second win in as many days, while the NCAA Division II Hawks fall to 6-5.

Trinity built a 4-0 lead in the first period, beginning with the first goal of the game by first-year forward Cole Poliziani (Burlington, Ontario) from senior forward Adam Anderson (Hugo, Minn.) 8:23 after the opening whistle.  Chugg scored his first goal of the game just 85 seconds later on a power play, before junior forward Barclay Gammill (New Canaan, Conn.) and sophomore Eric Benshadle (Getzville, N.Y.) added tallies later the first period.  The Bantams finished with a 13-to-5 shooting edge in the first 20 minutes, but the Hawks outshot the Bantams, 10-5, in the middle frame and forced Trinity rookie goaltender Jonah Capriotti (Mount Hope, Ontario) to make 10 of his 15 saves.

The Trinity defense dominated the final period, holding the Hawks without a shot-on-goal for the entire 20 minutes.  Bantam sophomore forward Dylan Healey scored the first of three more goals by the home team 1:13 into the third period.  Benshadle had an assist in the final stanza to finish with two points, while sophomore forward Nicholas Polsinelli (Galloway, N.J.) finished with two assists in the game.  Caprioti collected 15 saves to collect his first career shutout, and Lucas Michaud (South Portland, Maine) scored his first career goal.  Colin Soucy and Michal Soustal combined for 24 saves in net for St. Anselm.
