Hartford, Conn. – Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Mattew Greason (9th season) has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season. During the winter, the Bantams will take to the ice 24 times, highlighted by 18 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilts and 11 contests in front of its home crowd inside the Koeppel Community Sports Center.
Trinity is coming off another banner season that saw the Bantams crowned as NESCAC Champions for the third time in the last four years with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over Amherst at home. The team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, where it fell to the University of New England at home in the first round. With a strong returning core, the Bantams will look to once again return to glory.
The Bantams begin NESCAC play right out of the gate with a pair of home games against Connecticut College (11/15) and Tufts (11/16). The following week, the Bantams go on the road where they will face fellow NESCAC rivals Amherst (11/22) and Hamilton (11/23). Trinity will close off the month of November at home against Manhattanville (11/26) before heading up to St. Anselm College in southern New Hampshire to play Potsdam State (11/30).
In December, the team will stay at St. Anselm and play the hosts (12/1) before ending the shortened month on the road against Hobart (12/6) in upstate New York, who finished last year's final poll ranked #6 in the nation.
The Bantams begin 2020 with a January 3rd away game against Plymouth State followed by a home game against Suffolk (1/4) the day after. The following weekend, Trinity travels to Middlebury (1/10) and WIlliams (1/11) before returning to Koeppel the following weekend for games versus Bowdoin (1/18) and Colby (1/19). Trinity heads to Connecticut College on Saturday, January 25, and Tufts on Sunday, January 26, before returning for four-straight home contests. A weekend doubleheader with Amherst (1/31) and Hamilton (2/1) closes out the team's January slate.
During the final month of the regular season, Trinity concludes its four-game homestand with a game against Middlebury on February 7th and Williams on the 8th. The following weekend, the squad heads to Maine to face Bowdoin (2/14) and Colby (2/15) before wrapping up the regular season with their annual home-and-home series with Wesleyan, as they host the Cardinals in Hartford on February 21 and travel down the road to Middletown on February 22.
