Hanover, N.H. - The Trinity College men's rowing novices boasted the fifth- and sixth-place finishers in the Green Monster Freshman Regatta hosted by Dartmouth College on the Connecticut River Sunday afternoon. Trinity's "A" entry finished in 16:20.8 and its "B" boat recorded a time of 16:21.6. The Dartmouth heavyweights were first at 15:02.3. The event closes the fall season for the Bantams.
"This fall represented a positive step forward for the crews," said Trinity Head Coach Kevin MacDermott. "A strong group of underclassmen developed well and gained valuable racing experience at the Head of the Housatonic and the Head of the Charles. Our first-year rowers contributed positively to the boathouse and performed well at the Green Monster hosted by Dartmouth. From top to bottom, everyone took steps forward with their rowing and training habits. Success this spring is dependent upon performance and preparation through the winter training period. It is a capable, talented group that can take significant strides forward if they are determined to do so."
