Trinity's Men's Rowing Second-Varsity Eight Wins Petit Final At Knecht Cup

Camden, N.J. - The Trinity College second-varsity eight crew won the petit final at the Knecht Cup Regatta on Mercer Lake this weekend, finishing .01 seconds out of the grand final in its preliminary heat on Saturday with a time of 6:47.48 and winning the Sunday final by 2.71 seconds over second-place Bucknell with a time of 6:16.50.  Trinity's varsity-eight came in sixth place in its petit final on Sunday, and its entry in the Division II/III category was fourth in its grand final today with a time of 6:43.07.

In a field of 19 entries in the varsity-eight category, Trinity's boat finished its preliminary race in 6:39.48 to qualify for the semifinals and placed sixth in of two six-boat semifinal races with a time of 6:19.68.  The Bantam time of 6:16.45 in the petit final was 0.43 seconds shy of fifth-place Marist and 16.45 behind first-place Rhode Island.
