Trinity Men's Rowing Finishes Second At Quinsigamond Snake Regatta

Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College varsity eight finished second of 18 boats in the collegiate eights race at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsiagmond this afternoon.  The Bantam crew came in at 14:07.8, which was 8.7 seconds behind first-place Holy Cross and .2 seconds faster than third-place Williams.  Trinity second-varsity eight was ninth in the same race at 14:53.5 and its third-varsity eight was 15th at 15:48.3.

"That was a strong performance for the varsity eight this afternoon," said Trinity Men's Rowing Head Coach Kevin MacDermott. "The crew was finalized on Thursday and they blended well over just two practices. I was pleased to see them put together a good piece today and believe they can gain some speed this week before the Charles. The second- and third-varsity crews each had strong sections of racing today and have been excellent throughout the entire fall, particularly last week at the Head of the Riverfront. Everything we do in the fall aims to serve our speed for the Championships in early May and the guys have taken some great steps so far this fall."
