THIS WEEK: The Trinity College men's soccer team enters the final week of the regular season with a 4-9-1 record after defeating Eastern Connecticut State, 2-1, in their only game last week. The Bantams return to the pitch on Wednesday of this week for a 7 p.m. game against New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponent Amherst on Senior Night.
Amherst Series History: Trinity is 11-65-1 against Amherst since the innaugural matchup in 1938.
Recent history against the Mammoths: Trinity lost to Amherst, 4-0, in last season's regular season finale before falling to the Mammoths in the NESCAC playoffs, 4-1.
- Senior captain Cody Savonen leads the NESCAC in goals (8) and is second in points (17). The senior captain also leads the conference in total shots (58) and shots on goal (33). Savonen assisted on classmate Scott Brazina's second goal of the season in the first half against the Warriors last week.
- Steel leads the team and is tied for fourth in the NESCAC with four helpers on the year. He is also tied for third on the team in total points (4) with Brazina and rookie Henry Belt.
-Senior captain Mateo Zabala is third in the league in total saves with 69. Zabala made four saves in his fourth win of the season against the Warriors.
- Trinity will honor its five-member senior class ahead of Wednesday night's matchup against Amherst. The seniors have been a part of teams that have compiled a 24-28-9 overall record and have made three-straight NESCAC Championship Tournament appearances.
