THIS WEEK: The Trinity College men's soccer team enters the week with a 1-3 record after going 1-2 last week, including a 6-0 drubbing of Rivier for the first win of the season. The Bantams return to action on Wednesday of this week when they host Endicott before traveling to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe Colby on Saturday.
Endicott Series History: Trinity is 1-0 against Endicott after winning the first-ever meeting between the two schools last season.
Recent history against the Gulls: Trinity defeated Endicott, 2-1, last fall thanks to an overtime game-winner by sophomore Henry Farr.
Colby Series History: Trinity is 8-6-3 all-time against Colby since the first meeting in 2000.
Recent history against the Mules: The Bantams lost to Colby, 2-1 in overtime, last season in Hartford.
- Senior captain Cody Savonen found the back of the net three times against Rivier. He currently ranks second in the NESCAC in goals (3) and is tied for fourth in points (6).
- Senior captain Mateo Zabala ranks tied for second in the league in total saves with 19. Zabala combined for 12 against Hamilton and Tufts over the weekend after not facing a shot on net against the Raiders.
-Rookies Dagoberto Nunez Jr. and Ben Miles both scored first career goals in the 6-0 win against Rivier last Wednesday. Classmate David Luongo picked up his first career point as well courtesy of an assist on Miles' goal.
- Saturday's game at Colby begins a four-game road trip for Trinity after playing at home in four of the season's first five games. The Bantams return to their home pitch on Saturday, October 7, against Bowdoin.
