Trinity Men's Squash Bounces Bates In Season Opener

Lewiston, Maine - First-year Mudit Pant (Ghaziabad, India) excelled in his collegiate debut with a 11-6, 11-2, 11-8 victory in the No. 8 spot in the lineup to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 7-2 victory over the Bates College Bobcats in men's squash action this afternoon. Top-ranked Trinity wins its season opener, while Bates drops to 3-2.  Bantam sophomore Rick Penders (Maastricht, Netherlands) took defending national champion Ahmed Abdel Khlalek to four games in a valiant effort at the top spot, but Trinity won the bottom seven positions including the lower six in three games.  The Bantams also blanked Bowdoin, 9-0, in an evening match to improve to 2-0.
