Trinity Men's Squash Sinks St. Lawrence To Take Third In Potter Trophy Championships

New Haven, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams defeated the St. Lawrence University Saints in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championship (Potter Trophy) Third-Place Match this afternoon at Yale University's Brady Courts.  Trinity finishes with a 21-2 record and avenges a 5-4 loss to the Saints 15 days ago.  St. Lawrence ends up at 15-4.

Trinity led, 2-1, after the first wave with 3-1 wins by senior co-captain Juan Vargas (Bogota, Colombia) and junior co-captain Affeeq Ismail (Kuching, Malaysia).  Sophomore James Evans (Maidstone, England) remained perfect in 39 career matches with a 3-2 win in the No. 5 match, and first-year Nku Patrick (San Fernando, Trinidad) won, 3-1, in the No. 8 match.  Leading, 4-2, heading into the final shift, Trinity sophomore Omar Alluadin (Lahore, Pakistan) sewed it up with a 3-1 in the No. 7 match.  The No. 4 match was not completed.
