Trinity Men's Squash Sees 51-Match Win Streak At Home Come To An End Against Harvard

Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College first-year Miko Aijanen (Jarvenpaa, Finland) took down last year's No. 9-ranked player, Marwan Tarek, 3-0, in a match that lasted 83 minutes, but the homestanding Bantams lost to the top-ranked Harvard University Crimson, 8-1, this evening at Kellner Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 2 in the nation, sees its 51-match winning streak at home come to an end.  The Crimson improve to 10-0.  The Bantams, which last lost at home, 7-2, against Harvard on February 4, 2014, are off for 10 days before the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships Valentine's Weekend at Bowdoin College.

Aijanen improved to 13-0 as a collegian, winning, 12-10, 15-13, 11-8 over Tarek in a match that lasted 83 minutes and made the team score, 2-1, in Harvard's favor after the first wave.  Trinity senior Thoboki Mohohlo (Johanessburg, South Africa), ranked No. 14 in the nation at the end of last year, took Harvard's Sam Scherl, ranked No. 16, the distance, winning the first (11-7) and fourth games (11-8) but losing the second (11-3), third (11-0), and fifth (11-5).  Bantam junior Aryaman Adik (Mumbai, India) won the first two games by identical 11-2 scores at the bottom of the ladder over Harvard's Julien Gosset, but lost the next three.
