Trinity Swimming and Diving Announces 2017-18 Schedule

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Head Coach Carlos Vega (4th season) has announced his team’s schedules for the upcoming 2017-18 season. The Bantams take to the water eight times this winter, highlighted by a trip to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships in February.

Last winter, the men's program saw a program-best, seventh-place finish and their highest point total (617) at the NESCAC Swimming and Diving Championship Meet while Vega was named NESCAC Coach of the Year as well.  The squad was 7-3 in dual meets, after going 2-7-1 in 2015-16, and set 14 new team records.

The women's team had a successful season as well, finishing with four more wins than the previous winter, and numerous career and college-best performances at the NESCAC Championships at the end of the year.

The Bantams open their slate at at Bates on Saturday, November 18 for a tri-meet with the Bobcats and fellow NESCAC opponent Wesleyan.

In December, both squads will travel to Hamilton for the Hamilton Invitational on December 1st and 2nd, before returning home to Hartford. On December 8th, the teams close out the fall semester of racing as the men's team hosts Wheaton and the women's team hosts Wheaton as well as Wellesley.

Both teams open up the new year by hosting Clark on Friday, January 12, in respective dual meets. The two squads then travel to Vassar the following day (1/13), as the men's team will take on the Brewers and the women will also compete against Mt. Holyoke as well. The following week, the Bantams travel down the road to Wesleyan for a quad meet on January 26th and 27th with the Cardinals, Bowdoin and Colby.

The Bantams travel to Connecticut College on February 3rd for their final dual-meets of the season. On February 16-18, the women travel to Williams to compete for a league title at the 2018 NESCAC Championships while the men’s league championship takes place the following weekend (2/23-2/25) at Bowdoin.

Trinity swimmers and divers can qualify and compete in both the NCAA Division III Regional Championships on March 3-4, at Middlebury, and the NCAA Division III National Championships March 21-24 at IUPUI.
