Trinity Takes Care Of Clark In Men's Swimming And Diving Meet

Worcester, Mass. - Sophomore Blake Jamilkowski (New York, N.Y.) won three individual events and one relay to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 189.5-96.5 victory over the Clark University Cougars in men's swimming and diving action this afternoon.  Trinity improves to 4-1 in dual meets, while Clark falls to 0-5.  Trinity hosts Connecticut College in its only home meet of the year on Martin Luther King Day at 1 p.m.

Jamikowski, senior tri-captain Gordon Hyduke (Malvern, Pa.), and sophomores Kevin Long (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and Marco Rupp (Wolfsburg, Austria) opened the meet with a first-place time of 1:41.44 in the 200-yard medley relay.  Jamilkowski won the 50-yard breaststroke (28.04), the 50-yard butterfly (23.72), and the 100-yard IM (56.43), while Hyduke also won the 100-yard fly (55.53), Long won the 100-yard back (1:00.31), and Rupp touched first in the 50-yard free (22.66). 

Trinity first-year Ryan Schaum (Tarrytown, N.Y.) added first-place swims in the 500- (5:02.03) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:26.47) races, while sophomores J.D. Costello (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and Charles Roth (Alexandria, Va.) posted winning times of 25.89 in the 50-yard back and 1:06.10 in the 100-yard breast, respectively.  Costello, Rupp, Long, and sophomore Radojica Pavlovic (Belgrade, Serbia) closed out the afternoon with a first-place time of 1:31.13 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
