Trinity Men's Tennis Takes Victory Over Vassar

Claremont, Calif. - The Trinity College Bantams downed the Vassar College Brewers, 7-2, in men's tennis action this afternoon at the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to complete their spring-break trip to the West Coast with a 2-1 record.  This afternoon's match scheduled against Redlands was cancelled.  Trinity swept the doubles to take a 3-0 lead and won four singles matches including three in straight sets. Trinity senior co-captain Kyle Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) and first-year Scott Danforth (Greenwich, Conn.) teamed up for an 8-6 win at second doubles, while Scheffers won, 6-2, 6-2 at second singles and Danforth won 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles to give the Bantams that team decision early at 5-0. 

The Bantams' rookie doubles tandem of Chris Bilicic (Chicago, Ill.) and Granville Kaynor (New Orleans, La.) posted an 8-3 victory at third doubles, and Kaynor won, 6-4, 6-3 at third singles.  Bilicic outdueled Vassar's Dom Demeterfi, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6) at fifth singles, and Trinity's top singles pair of senior co-captain Rex Glickman (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and sophomore Courtland Boyle (Pembroke, Mass.) won, 8-7 (5) to account for the seven Bantam points.
