Trinity Men's Tennis Doubles Up Wheaton

Hartford, Conn. - First-years Scott Danforth (Greenwich, Conn.) and Granville Kaynor (New Orleans, La.) both won in singles and doubles to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 victory over the visiting Wheaton College Lyons in men's tennis action this afternoon in Ferris Athletic Center Field House.  Trinity improves to 3-2 with the win in its home opener, which was moved inside from Assaiante Tennis Center.  Wheaton falls to 3-4.

Trinity led, 2-1, after doubles play thanks to an 8-4 win by Danforth and senior co-captain Kyle Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) at the No. 2 spot and an 8-3 triumph by Kaynor and fellow rookie Chris Bilicic (Chicago, Ill.) at No. 3.  Bantam senior co-captain Rex Glickman (Chappaqua, N.Y.) won at the top of the singles ladder without giving up a single point, and Kaynor won, 6-3, 6-1  at fourth doubles to put Trinity up, 4-3, with two matches left. Danforth also won, 6-0, 6-0, while junior Alexander Fallone (New York, N.Y.) posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory to give the Bantams a 6-3 win.
