Trinity Men's Tennis Drops Home Opener To Amherst

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomores Chris Bilicic (Chicago, Ill.) and Granville Kaynor (New Orleans, La.) teamed up for an 8-2 victory at third doubles, but the Trinity College Bantams had their home opener spoiled by the visiting Amherst College Mammoths in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action this afternoon at Assaiante Center. The Bantam tandem ended doubles play with the Mammoths holding a 2-1 lead, but Trinity fell short in all six singles matches to end the afternoon with an 8-1 setback.  Trinity drops to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play with its third-consecutive loss, while the No. 9-ranked Mammoths are now 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the league with their sixth win in a row.  Trinity visits No. 17-ranked Tufts in a NESCAC match on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
