Trinity Men's Outdoor Track And Field Shines In Home Invitational Meet

Hartford, Conn. - Junior Alex Tomcho (Windsor, Conn.) and sophomore Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) won events at home, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Trinity College Men's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational at Jessee/Miller Field this afternoon.  Tomcho won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.98, while McAlister finished just under two seconds ahead of second-place junior teammate Joe Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:06.74.  Other top finishes for the Bantams included a second-place time of 1:56.23 in the 800-meter run by senior co-captain Kyle Larsson (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and runner-up hurdles times of 15.17 over 110 meters and 1:00.64 over 400 meters by junior Luke Mayer (Morristown, N.J.) and first-year Erkin Verbeek (Bethesda, Md.), respectively.  In throws, junior Kevin Oleskewicz (Simsbury, Conn.) came through for Trinity with second-place tosses in both the discus  (35.13 m) and the hammer (42.64 m).  Trinity will remain home next weekend when the Bantams host the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet on Saturday, April 28.
