Williamstown, Mass. - Senior captain Joe Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:38.56, as the Trinity College Bantams claimed 24th place in the New England Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Williams College this weekend.  Trinity totaled eight points, while MIT won the team title with 139.50 points.  Trinity senior sprinter Alex Tomcho (Windsor, Conn.) posted a preliminary time of 11.06 on Friday to qualify for today's finals, but did not run today.  In relays, junior Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.), sophomores Stephen Tyler (Weston, Conn.) and Erkin Verbeek (Bethesda, Md.) and first-year Henry Potter (Lake Oswego, Oregon) posted a fifth-place time of 7:51.22.  All six Bantams receive All-New England recognition for their fine performances.
