Trinity Men's Outdoor Track And Field Competes In New England Open Championships

New Haven, Conn. - Junior Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:12.91, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the New England Men's Outdoor Track and Field Open Championship Meet at Southern Connecticut State University this weekend.  Trinity senior captain Joe Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) placed 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:37.87, while senior captain Ben Feola (Woodbridge, Conn.) added a 20th-place time of 50.56 in the 400-meter dash, and senior captain Luke Mayer (Morristown, N.J.) was 26th in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.76.

In relays, Trinity sophomores Stephen Tyler (Weston, Conn.) and Erkin Verbeek (Bethesda, Md.) and Tim Lautenbach (Weston, Conn.) and Henry Potter (Lake Oswego, Oregon) just missed scoring with a ninth-place time of 7:59.19.  Feola, Mayer, classmate Samuel Oyebefun (Basseterre, St. Kitt's & Nevis), and rookie Devante Reid (Essex, England) were 11th in the 4x100-meter relay race with a time of 44.34.
