Trinity Finishes Ninth In Branwen Smith-King Men's Indoor Track And Field Invitational

Medford, Mass. - Sophomore Robert Allen (Bloomfield, Conn.) finished second in the 60-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash to lead the Trinity College Bantams to ninth place in the Branwen Smith-King Men's Track and Field Invitational at Gantcher Center this afternoon.  Trinity totaled 37 points to finish six behind eighth-place Amherst and nine better than 10th-place Mass.-Dartmouth in the field of 22 teams.  MIT won the invitational with 135.5 points.

Allen, who posted times of 7.08 in the 60-meter dash finals and 22.72 in the 200-meter dash, was one of two Bantams to score in each of those events.  Sophomore Jalen Weathers (Chicago, Ill.) was eighth in the 60 meters at 7.33 and fellow rookie Kai Balin (Shutesbury, Mass.) was fourth in the 200 meters just .03 seconds behind Allen.  Bantam rookie Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) added a second-place time of 8:27.37 in the 3,000-meter run, followed by senior co-captain Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) in fifth at 8:41.70.  In jumps, sophomore Kinnard Hughes (Chicago, Ill.) cleared the high jump bar at a fifth-place height of 21'05.50".
