Three Bantams Win At Tufts Men's Indoor Track And Field Last Chance Meet

Medford, Mass. - Three Bantams won events, as the Trinity College men's indoor track and field team competed in the Tufts National Qualifying Meet at Gantcher Center this afternoon.  Trinity senior co-captain Ace McAlister (Shasheman, Ethiopia) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:39.91 that gives him a chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships next weekend in North Carolina.  Bantam sophomore Robert Allen (Bloomfield, Conn.) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.89, putting himself into position for a national selection as well.  Allen posted the fastest time of 6.94 in the preliminaries and bested that by .05 seconds to set a new Trinity record.  In the triple jump, Trinity sophomore Kinnard Hughes (Chicago, Ill.) registered a winning distance of 45'02.25".
