Entering his 28th season at Trinity in 2019-20, George Suitor stepped aside from his head coaching role in track and field in August of 2018. He continues as Trinity's men's and women's cross country head coach and as an assistant men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field coach working with the distance and middle distance runners. Suitor coached 28 All-Americans in men’s and women’s track from 2000 to 2018, and his squads consistently earned distinction by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as National Academic Teams.
Suitor came to Trinity in 1992 after a highly successful tenure at the high school level. His scholastic teams (Manchester, CT) won three state championships and three runner-up distinctions, and achieved more than 225 dual-meet victories. Suitor, after a career as an educator in Manchester, devotes himself full time to his duties with Trinity's cross country and track and field squads. He was inducted into the Connecticut State High School Hall of Fame in the fall of 2015.
