Trinity Men's Cross Country Takes Ninth, Ace McAlister Finishes 10th At NESCAC Championships

New Gloucester, Maine - Sophomore Ace McAlister (Great Barrington, Mass.) posted a 10th-place time of 25:39.4, as the Trinity College Bantams earned ninth in the team standings at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Cross Country Championships this afternoon at Pineland Farms.  McAlister improved 29 places from last year's meet with a time 1:26 faster than his rookie season.  He finished .6 seconds behind the ninth-place runner and 2.5 faster than the 11th-place runner, while Amherst's Mohamed Hussein led the Mammoths to the team title with his first-place time of 25:07.3.  Trinity finished with 237 points to edge Wesleyan by nine.  Hamilton was eighth with 198 points and Amherst had five runners in the top 15 to notch 35 points.  The Bantams jumped two slots from 11th a year ago in the team totals.

Trinity sophomore Timothy Bogomolov (Lynn, Mass.) added a 46th-place time of 26:30.7, while junior Joe Ruggiero (Manchester, Conn.) was 56th at 26:49.8.  Trinity sophomore Lucas Duros (Wilmette, Ill.) was 58th, followed by rookie Stephen Tyler (Weston, Conn.) in 67th.  The Bantams will compete again in Maine on November 11 at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships at Southern Maine.
